Our Club Fitting Process

Schedule a Time & Bring Your Clubs

Choose a time that works best for you and book your fitting. Bring your current clubs so your Tee Box Pro can capture your performance metrics and establish a baseline for comparison. If you don’t have clubs yet, we’ll provide the equipment you need.

Test Different Club Options

Using your baseline data, your Tee Box Pro will have you test different club heads, shafts, lofts, lie angles, and more. All adjustments are tested under the same conditions so you can see how it compares.

Leave with Your Spec Sheet

At the end of your fitting, you’ll receive your recommended club specifications. Your spec sheet is yours to keep, whether you choose to purchase clubs with us, somewhere else, or not at all.

Know the Tools
of Your Game

  • checkmark
Driver: A driver is designed to make the ball gain as much distance as possible when hit off the tee. Drivers are known for their aerodynamic design, mixture of materials, large clubhead, long shaft, and low loft. These features create a large face ideal for ball contact and higher swing speeds compared to other clubs. Players often find they can hit the ball more consistently and with greater power using a driver, helping them reach the green in as few shots as possible.
  • checkmark
Iron: Irons give a golfer more control over ball path and flight: the right irons balance distance, trajectory, and control based on the golfer’s swing. Irons range from 3-iron to 9-iron, with each ascending iron having a higher loft. Typically, the lower the loft, the further the ball will travel. Having an array of irons in a bag gives a golfer options for approaching the green from different distances and scenarios. Finding the right combination comes down to understanding your swing, your typical ball flight, and the distances you need to cover.
  • checkmark
Wedge: Wedges are essential tools for a golfer’s short game. Featuring high lofts, short shafts, and heavy clubheads, these specialized irons have the necessary control for approach shots, chipping, pitching, and escaping sand bunkers. There are four main types of wedges: the pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge, and lob wedge. Each is designed with distinct loft angles to handle specific short-game shots on the course. Building the right wedge setup improves your distance gapping and gives you more scoring options when you're close to the green.
  • checkmark
Putter: A putter is a specialized golf club designed for short, controlled strokes on and around the putting green. Unlike any other club in a golfer's bag, the putter has a nearly flat face with a very low loft to prevent the ball from lifting off the ground. The putter is widely considered the most critical tool in a player's bag for saving strokes and lowering scores.
  • checkmark
Shaft: A shaft is the long, tapered tube that connects the clubhead to the grip. Its flexibility ranges from regular to stiff to extra stiff. The shaft plays an important role in how a golf club feels throughout a swing. Ultimately, its weight, flex, and length all influence the launch, spin, accuracy, and overall distance of the ball. Matching the shaft to the player helps the club work more effectively with their natural movement.
  • checkmark
Grip: The grip is where golfers hold the club. Grip size, material, texture, and condition can affect comfort, control, and how natural a golfer feels holding the club. The right grip supports confident swings.

Full Bag: A full-bag fitting determines how the entire set of clubs works together. Each club has a defined purpose that addresses distance gaps and specifications that support the golfer’s swing. Tee Box Sewickley takes a holistic approach to equipment selection, helping golfers build a cohesive set for their game.

Club Fittings FAQs

Yes, bring your own clubs to the fitting. That way, we can establish your baseline and measure changes against it.

If you don’t have clubs yet, don’t worry. We’ll ask you some questions about how you play, set you up with clubs that give us a useful starting point, and use those as your baseline throughout the fitting.

If your current clubs already work best for you, that’s great, and we’ll tell you. You’ll still leave with a complete assessment of your equipment and greater confidence that the clubs in your bag are helping your game, not limiting it.

No, the 60-minute Golf Performance Assessment is the first part of your club fitting and is included at no additional cost. If you’ve already completed an assessment, let us know when you book, and you can move directly into the fitting process.

Our club fitting takes about two hours. That includes the 60-minute Golf Performance Assessment at the start.

Golf clubs should fit how you naturally swing and what you can consistently repeat. The movement screen gives your Tee Box Pro a clearer picture of how your body moves so they can recommend equipment that works with your swing instead of against it.
